Following the announcement of their brand new Nashville HQ, in a move to firm up their presence in the growing city, copyright management company Muserk has brought music industry veteran Marc Driskill on board to head music development in Nashville. With over 25 years in the music industry under his belt, Marc will continue helping creatives understand the flow of royalties at Muserk.
“In publishing you really get to roll your sleeves up and work with music you believe in,“ says Driskill. “Muserk is a great team that is doing tremendous work to uncover and collect royalties for rightsholders all over the world, and I want to make sure that everyone in Nashville knows that they can trust Muserk to collect every cent.”
An accountant by trade, Marc has spent his entire career working in a hybrid role to help creatives understand the flow of money in the music industry. Beginning his career in business development at ASCAP in 1998, Marc then moved on to Big Loud where he worked as the Chief Operating Officer at the Nashville-based publishing house and copyright administration division before returning to ASCAP as VP and General Manager in 2009. In 2012, he took on the role of Executive VP and GM at Sea Gayle Music where he stayed for over 9 years.
Most recently, Marc worked at FirstBank where he helped the bank establish a greater presence in the music industry and facilitated one of the largest music catalog financing facilities in the history of the bank.
“We are thrilled to welcome Marc to Muserk and our mission here in Nashville,” says Paul Goldman, CEO of Muserk. “Marc brings a vast wealth of experience and expertise to our rights management efforts. His extensive knowledge in the copyright space, coupled with his deep understanding of Nashville’s songwriting culture, will be invaluable for Muserk’s growth on Music Row.”
